The 5 Best VoIP Apps for Calling Pakistan

More people than ever are using VoIP calls instead of traditional landline or phone calls. The reason for this is that VoIP calling is a lot easier, quicker, more flexible and, most of all, it’s FREE!

VoIP works by using the internet to send calls, so you aren’t having to pay for sending messages. This is especially useful for those of you who have friends and family in Pakistan, but live abroad as distance makes no difference in VoIP calls.

We’re going to have a look at five of the best apps available and see if one comes out on top.

Skype

Skype is the service that usually comes to mind when you’re talking about VoIP calls. It’s a firm favourite because it’s so easy to use and generally reliable.

However, if you’re trying to make traditional calls on Skype, you’ll find that their call rates can be pricey. It’s still cheaper than using a landline; however there ARE alternatives.

Hangouts

Hangouts, from Google, is a multi-media communication tool. In includes all the standard functions you can expect from a VoIP app – videos, IMs and texts, picture-sharing. It has a slick design but many users have complained about having their messages delayed or even lost. It can also be overly complicated to use.

Viber

Viber concentrates mainly on video-calling and text messaging, although it does have other capabilities. It’s a good choice for those who want good video and sound quality. Unfortunately, you can only message and call other users. The Viber app is also not supported by some phones – Nokia, for example.

WeChat

WeChat began in China and is quite similar to Hangouts. It’s good for quick messages but unfortunately does not have a very large user-base. The reason for this is that it generally does not have very good connectivity in its calls so using it for international calls isn’t always great.

ChilliTalk

Our app ChilliTalk, like the others, has all the features of a good VoIP app. But what it also provides are the cheapest international call rates for Pakistan or elsewhere. This is because at ChilliTalk we understand how important it is to keep in touch with your friends and family abroad — we know that not everyone has access to a smartphone or PC.

We give you flexibility with our app. You can use it wherever you are, switching from WiFi to your mobile network at a click of a button. It has a simple, easy-to-use, design and great call-quality.
